Stopped for a late lunch because this pub is just slightly off A17. We had wings, fish and chips, pasta and sandwich from the menu and they were all really tasty. We were pleased with the service too. They have nice garden seating too though we sat inside.

Walked in without a reservation and they happily seated us. Pan fried salmon and the chicken burger were to die for and cooked to perfection. Drinks were lovely. The staff were friendly. Will definitely be coming back. Beer garden looked nice and tidy.

Delighted with my first visit! I am sure I'll return soon. We booked a midweek lunch (advisable). The service was laid back but efficient and friendly staff were welcoming. The food was delicious and our party of two enjoyed it. Tasty, hot, and the right amount. I particularly liked the dessert of warmed hot chocolate fudge cake with a mini jug of cream! It was so rich and flavoursome. I took a photo of that, but I don't know how to post it. Thanks Five Bells. We loved our lunch with you yesterday in the summer sunshine!

Went there last night with family, first everyone must realise this is a local village pub, so the locals are there drinking, ( that’s what a pub is for and it wasn’t a problem for us) the staff were good and friendly. Food was worth the wait, the ribs were huge the pie was good with extra gravy in a gravy boat, the goats cheese pie was not available but they did a Brie instead great idea. Value for money was excellent, a little advice would be to bring out young children’s food first so they aren’t waiting ( we should have asked) we will be back thank you

Lovely Sunday dinner. The pub was very busy but that didn’t affect the service or quality of the food. We were too full for desserts!

Went here on a cold Saturday night, there was no heating on and the place was chilly, took ages to warm up when we got home. The waitress was nice and pleasant, but the atmosphere in the pub was generally unwelcoming. Basil & tomato soup was nice. The lamb shank looked really unappetising, seemed to be one that was heated in a bag and just put on the plate, no nice gravy with it just a little jug of instant gravy, served with minted mashed potatoes, that was a bit weird, a spoonful of something brown and garnished with watercress! The steak & Guinness pie had a lot of meat, but not enough gravy, it was really dry, had to ask twice for extra gravy. The Steak & kidney pudding was microwaved, resulting in a hard inedible crust. The lasagne was reported to be top notch, although the chips were overcooked. Had a sticky toffee pudding and custard for dessert, in the hope that it would warm me up, unfortunately let down by skimping on the custard. The waitress was asked if the person who had the inedible steak and kidney pudding could have a free dessert, but was told that wasn't possible. We won't be returning.
